These Terms of Service regulate the contractual relationship between the owner of Soogus and any person who accesses or uses the platform. By creating an account or accessing the service, you fully accept these conditions.
1. Object and Access to the Service
Soogus is a digital intellectual publishing platform that connects authors, investigators, and demanding readers through high-quality manuscripts, essays, and analyses. The service includes:
- Publication and reading of manuscripts and opinion or research articles.
- Social interaction (comments, ratings, followers).
- Collaborative writing tools assisted by AI (Soogus Intelligence).
- Missions and Bounties system for paid research assignments.
- Partner program for authors with revenue sharing.
Basic access is free. Certain features require an active subscription (tiers: Reader, Writer, Sentinel Pro).
2. Registration and User Account
To access advanced features, you must create an account via authentication with Google or Apple. By registering, you declare that you:
- Are at least 16 years old (or have parental consent).
- Provide data that is truthful and up-to-date.
- Are solely responsible for the security of your credentials.
Soogus reserves the right to suspend or cancel accounts that violate these conditions, subject to prior notification explaining the reasons, except in cases of urgency due to legal or security risk.
3. Intellectual Property and Content
Author's Ownership: You retain full intellectual property rights over the manuscripts and works you publish on Soogus, in accordance with Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996 (Intellectual Property Law).
License to Soogus: By publishing content, you grant Soogus a non-exclusive, worldwide, sublicensable, and royalty-free license to host, reproduce, distribute, index, and display your content in the context of the service, including for promotional purposes of the platform.
Prohibition of Use by External AIs: The use of content from Soogus to train, fine-tune, or evaluate artificial intelligence models of third parties is expressly prohibited without an explicit commercial license.
Content Integrity: Soogus assigns a cryptographic hash (SHA-256) to each published manuscript as proof of integrity and immutability. Authors can verify at any time that their work has not been altered by automated systems.
4. Absolute Prohibition of Automated Extraction
Soogus is a sanctuary of human intelligence. Automated extraction of data is categorically prohibited.
The use of any automated system — including, without limitation: web scrapers, spiders, crawlers, autonomous agents, navigation bots, LLM agents — to access, extract, copy, index, or replicate content or data from Soogus is strictly prohibited.
Soogus deploys active "Sentinels" (detection systems for non-human behavior) that will automatically identify and block this type of access. Violations may be prosecuted under Spanish data protection and intellectual property legislation.
5. Content Moderation (DSA — Regulation (EU) 2022/2065)
In compliance with the Digital Services Act (DSA), Soogus maintains a transparent content moderation system:
- Detection: We use automated systems to detect illegal content supplemented by human review.
- Notification: Any moderation decision (hiding, removal, account suspension) will be notified to the affected user with a clear explanation of the reasons, the rule violated, and the available appeal options.
- Internal Appeal: You have access to an internal complaints management system. You can file a complaint via legal@soogus.com within 30 days of the notification. Complaints are reviewed by an independent human team within a maximum of 15 business days.
- Out-of-court Resolution: If you are not satisfied with our resolution, you can go to the out-of-court dispute resolution bodies certified by the competent authorities of your Member State of residence.
- Transparency: We publish periodic moderation reports on our Transparency Page.
6. Artificial Intelligence (AI Act — Regulation (EU) 2024/1689)
Soogus uses artificial intelligence systems to assist in writing, moderate content, and personalize the experience. In compliance with the AI Act:
- All content significantly generated or assisted by AI is labeled with the mark "Generated by Soogus Intelligence" in the interface and with machine-readable metadata in the C2PA/IPTC standard.
- We do not use AI to make automated decisions that have significant legal effects on users without human oversight.
- The automated moderation system is subject to human review in all cases involving restriction of user rights.
- Soogus is not responsible for "hallucinations" or factual errors that may be contained in AI-assisted content. Authors are responsible for validating the accuracy of their content before publishing.
7. Partner Program and Monetization
Authors participating in the Soogus Partner Program will receive a percentage of the subscription revenue they generate, according to the specific conditions of the program available at /legal/partner.
Payments to authors are managed through Stripe Connect. Authors are responsible for declaring the income received in accordance with the tax legislation of their country of residence. Soogus will apply the tax withholdings that legally correspond for authors resident in Spain.
The Missions System allows users to commission research from authors using an escrow payment system managed by Stripe. Soogus retains a commission of 15-20% on the value of each completed Mission.
8. Account Suspension and Cancellation
Soogus may suspend or cancel a user's access when these Terms are seriously breached, in particular in cases of: illegal content, fraud, automated data extraction, or violation of third-party rights. Except in urgent situations, the user will be notified with reasonable advance notice and will have access to the internal appeal system described in section 5.
9. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed and interpreted in accordance with Spanish and European Union law. For the resolution of disputes, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts and Tribunals of the city of Valencia, waiving any other jurisdiction, unless the user has the status of consumer, in which case the courts of the consumer's domicile will have jurisdiction.
Without prejudice to the foregoing, you can access the EU online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
